Squid-2.1 Releases:

Bugs fixed by 2.1.PATCH1

• The pinger program had bugs relating to the packet size and exited due to an assertion.
• A patch which fixed WAIS forwarding was never applied to the CVS repository.
• The dnsserver coredumped if you used both -D and -s options. You should still be careful to not specify too many -s options. Three is probably the limit.

Bugs fixed by 2.1.PATCH2

• The EBIT macros didn't work for 64-bit long integers.
• A NULL proxy_auth password caused coredumps.
• Multiple peerRefreshDNS events would be queued after a reconfigure.
• Added a stack for objects which get released during the cache rebuilding phase. The objects are released immediately after rebuilding completes.
• Fixed a number of bugs related to handling very large requests.
• Accomodated buggy ident servers which don't include a terminating CR or LF.
• Fixed a portability problem with cache keys. Previously we hashed (MD5) an enumerated type for the request method, which might have different byte ordering on different platforms. This is bad for Cache Digests. Now we hash a single character for the request method. The old key format will still checked for backwards compatibility until the end of February 1999.
• Fixed a bug causing multiple store_digests to be kept locked. We now release SPECIAL objects if the key is PRIVATE.
• Fixed a clientProcessOnlyIfCachedMiss which left some StoreEntries locked and caused an FD leak for swapins.

Patches

• A small memory leak in clientHandleIMSReply was discovered shortly after releasing 2.1.PATCH2. In case we never release a 2.1.PATCH3, here is a patch to fix that memory leak.
