what can i do with snmp in squid except for mrtg?

hi there. i'm new in using squid's snmp interface. i wonder what else can i
do with the internal snmp support except for mrtg. what other agent can
i use to query squid? how about of writing a snmp client all by myself, where
can i start from? 3x!
