When to expire?

Hi,

With ample disk space, which may be the case anyway for systems who would
benefit from working on the unlink, perhaps it's OK to devote some extra
space say 10% for files marked for deletion. Then we can defer the
deletion process to lean hours when the cache is hardly in use.

Usenet expiry comes into mind.

Thoughts?
