This means that your 'cache_mem' value is set too low.. you have told it
to use only 8Mb but it just isn't enough... so instead of just getting
too large it tells warns you.

Probably ran out of physical memory, right?

If you want a really small cache on a small machine then you should think about
running squid-NOVM... otherwise in-transit objects use lots of ram..
