Tar.gz error / Windows NT

Hi,

was extracting the Squid to my Source directory and was amazed that it
would not create a dir \aux in the squid dir...

Is the information herein critical? As I tried to manually create it
instead of using WinZip I encountered the error it already existed...

I am slapped dumb =)

Any pointers as to why it will not create the dir?
