You need to tell GDB to ignore SIGPIPE and a couple of other expected
signals.
You might want to try the my DebugCache RunCache replacement which uses
gdb to get automated stacktraces when Squid crashes. Developed for
hunting problems on async-io enabled Linux version of Squid where core
dumps is not at all available.
