You'd hope after the last bakeoff that it pases polymix-3 -)

The trouble is that it'll fail on things like digest building and
ICP .. making storeGetPublic() async (ie turning it into storeOpen for
all intents and purposes..) looks like it will be needed.
This'll increase latency for things like ICP requests, but I can
see this as a good reason for all FSes to be required to keep
a cache digest handy to speed things like this up ..

(Ie storeGetPublic() turns into a digest lookup per FS, and _then_
a disk open.)

I've got making storeGetPublic() async written down here in
my todo list for modio.
