Sure, seems interesting.
You have to beware to any possible limitations in the size of URLs
of this kind though. Are there any?

Naah.

Don't limit yourself to mailto's though. Provide the possibility to have
a form with hidden fields containing that info and a simple button
"push here to send a report to tech-support".
