There is a existing but somewhat idle IPv6 project for Squid. See
http://devel.squid-cache.org/ipv6/. I don't think any of the members of
the IPv6 Squid project would say no to another coder who likes to
continue the project.

Squid development projects uses CVS. For instructions on how to access
the sources and some rules/guidelines see
http://devel.squid-cache.org/CVS.html.

As the ipv6 project has been idle for some time there is quite likely a
bit of plumbing work needed to get the branch up to date with the rest
of the Squid developments, but to get started you should be able to just
use the the branch as it is today.

To be able to make modifications to the IPv6 branch you need to create
yourself a SourceForge account. We should also try to get confirmation
from Roger Venning.

The last thin I heard from Roger Venning on the status of the IPv6
support was:
