You cannot use $SHELL. $SHELL may be mostly whatever and is not
guaranteed to be a bourne shell.. on Squid-cache.org is is tcsh for
most users.
If you remove $SHELL and instead rely on lib/libtrie/bootstrap.sh to
be executable you should be fine.
Another note: Executable shell scripts must not have a space in
#!/bin/sh (lib/libTrie/bootstrap.sh)
