You should probably start with the existing IPv6 branch of Squid, or at
least use it as a guide. See http://devel.squid-cache.org/ipv6/

There is some basics on the Squid code in the Squid programmers guide.
It is far from complete however. What is missing is best asked in this
forum.

Please note the Squid development have switched language from C to C++
since the IPv6 branch of Squid was last updated.

If you manage to get reasonable IPv6 for Squid-3 (the C++ version of
Squid) then there should be no problem to have this merged into the main
Squid sources.
