Looks neat - definately interested.

It's not something for 2.5 though, as that is both frozen except for
exceptional items and bugfixes.

Likewise, 3.0, slated to become the next stable squid is also feature
frozen.

Porting the patch to the squid3 CVS module's HEAD development line
though, would prepare it to be reviewed/incorporated into HEAD (which
will become 3.1) once 3.0 is released.
