Well, what would be really cool is to have someone bring over all the COSS
improvements into -3 and integrate it into the Disk API Robert wrote.
Thats something that needs to happen before -3 is released.

I'm concentrating on rewriting chunks of the comm code (again!) to take
into account Roberts' work but minimise overheads where possible.
I don't think I'll have time to bring COSS into -3 until after October.
