My fault. For some reason, it is difficult for me to remember to run
make check before each commit.

While this is _not_ an excuse, I do not think that temporary breaking
"make check" is a huge deal as long as the main code works. After all, a
"make check" failure is often due to a test case bug or shortcoming. For
example, in this particular case, the next event execution time was
incorrectly tested as a side effect of testing event execution order.
