actually the patch you wrote does not work for me.
i tried it with squid-3.1.0.13, since the patch seemed to belong to
squid-3.1, not squid-3.0.

so... any other ideas ?
or is this somehow my fault ?
it seems like Henrik Nordstrom even suggests a completely different
approach, but i don't know exactly what he means.
please tell me your thoughts.
