UFS-type cache migration between 2.7 and 3.x should be handled cleanly
now by 3.1.10 and later. If not there is a new bug to fix.

COSS->UFS is not easy yet. For now to migrate UFS->COSS you would have
to setup COSS cache_dir empty and purge any small items from UFS.
Letting regular traffic renewal fill COSS up as needed.
In which case, it is less trouble and bandwidth simply to setup COSS
and let UFS entries expire naturally. Both 2.7 and 3.1+ will also move
objects into RAM and back to cache on IMS updates, which forms a slow
migration already.

I'm hoping the future planned tool will be able to do COSS<->UFS. Along
with offline validation and offline rebuild of swap.state for faster
recovery and cache plug-n-play. 'tis all dreams right now though. I'm
probably a year or more away from starting any of it myself.
The SMP caching "diskers" Alex has coming for 3.2 have new stuff and
bugs fixes which at casual view make some of these needs obsolete as well.
