Re: [PATCH] Consumption of POST body

I have created a revised patch to improve the current situation:

Whilst this doesn't address many of the points that have been discussed,
I think it does provide an improvement over the current situation.
Clearly it warrants further discussion going forward, but since this is
a real problem affecting systems in the wild, I'd like to propose
applying this patch for now until we can better resolve the discussed
problems at a later time.
