Accellerator problems with Apache

I am running Squid 1.0.9 as an accellerator for Apache. Apache is running
on port 81 Squid on 80.

Apache keeps telling users that its port is 81 and that leads to the next
request no longer going through squid.

Does anyone know how to stop this? I have tried setting the Apache
Servername with

www.fuller.edu:80

with desastrous consequences. Any other ideas?
