Hello,

The situation is as follows: we have both gopher and WWW servers and Squid
installed. From the gopher space there are links to the www space, for example:

Type=h
Name=New items in KFKI WWW & Gopher since 26 August 1996
Path=GET /~gophadm/new.html
Host=www.kfki.hu
Port=80
<URL:http://www.kfki.hu:80/%7egophadm/new.html>

If the cache is switched on in a netscape client, the URL above isn't returned
- if the cache is off, of course the URL works.

The truss result of the httpd gives the following:

cache is off in netscape:

read(18, 0xDFFFB0C0, 16384) = 24
   G E T / ~ g o p h a d m / n e w . h t m l\r\n

cache is off in netscape:

read(18, 0xDFFFB0C0, 16384) = 25
   G E T / ~ g o p h a d m / n e w . h t m l\r\n\0
                                                  ^^
                                                  ||

Please note the trailing \0! I suppose it is the reason,
why the page isn't returned.

We tried both squid 1.0.15 and 1.1beta3, no difference.

Is there any solution to the problem?

Thank you very much,
Jozsef Kadlecsik
