Squid on heavyly low connections

hi,

on heavyly low transfer-rates squid often returns the following message:

---> cut

The requested URL could not be retrieved
The following error was encountered:
Read Error

The system returned:
    (104) Connection reset by peer</I></PRE>
    This means that:
    The remote site or network may be down. Please try again.
---> cut

Most of the time after a reload the page apears without a problem.
Is there a parameter where we can increawe the timout value?
