 Bumping up sysctl variables...

  kern.maxfiles: 4096
  kern.maxfilesperproc: 2048

 and some shells (ie csh/tcsh) use "limit descriptors ...."

 FWIW I did a test on a 2.1.5-stable machine and a 3.0-current
 machine with a bit of code to open 2000 file descriptors at
 the same time.

 On the 2.1.5 system the process was using ~25 mb with all
 descriptors open, and the 3.0 system was using about 20...
