FTPget choking on SonicFTP server

ftpget is choking on the SonicFTP server on a MACOS computer. See
ftp://ftp.rnbo.com/FTP/ for error message.

This particular server does not support CWD, but does CD. Is there a way
to let ftpget try CD if CWD doesn't work? (in the source).

Squid is 1.1.5
