Cache time-to-live

Hi,

could you please explain how Squid determines how long to keep a cached
page? It seems that most pages expire within minutes, and subsequent
requests generate a miss - sometimes it seems not reasonable.

Is there any setting in the configuration file, where a page's time-to-
live can be adjusted?
