No Date Header

Hi,

We are using the following refresh pattern vor *.html:
        refresh_pattern ^http:// 15 20% 43200

Is it possible that an object without a "Date" header will never be cached?

        GET / HTTP/1.0

        HTTP/1.0 200 Document follows
        MIME-Version: 1.0
        Server: CERN/3.0pre6vms3
        Content-Type: text/html
        Content-Length: 8464
        Last-Modified: Monday, 12-May-97 15:47:50 GMT
        ...

If yes - is there a reason for it?
