What is typically a big cache. Would a for instance a Pentium 60 with 512k
and Raid-controller with 8Mb be sufficient for a lets say 6Gb Cache over a
256k LL and max 150 clients attached? What r the guidelines here ?

A bit of an echo here, but memory is important. If you plan on having
reasonable performance, you really want to have enough memory to keep
the entire process in RAM. Once you start paging, performance just
plummets.

Having said that, if you're running a really big cache, you'll need a
reasonable amount of CPU as well :)
