Squid dying under heavy load..?

Hardware: PPro200, 128MB, 8 GB.
Software: FreeBSD-2.2.1,Squid-1.1.10
Hitrate: 50t / hour peek, 30t average.

Lately, as the usage of the proxy has been going up, the squid
has been dying (exiting) about 2-3 times a night.
This shouldn't be a memory problem, squid running just nice,
a bit slow thought. At full load seek time 0.5s.
Well, anyway, the error message is quite nice:

FATAL: xcalloc: Unable to allocate 4096 blocks of 1 bytes!

        Any ideas?? Cheers!
