ftpget failing under HP/UX 9.03

Whenever starting ftpget either from Squid or from the command line, I
get a message similar to the following:

ftpget: wrongs number of arguments (X)

The X is a number that changes according to the number of arguments
supplied in the squid.conf file or the command line. Invaribly ftp
caching is disabled. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on a fix
for this?
