Method Not Implemented

FreeBSD 2.2.1, 1.1.16-NOVM default install running off 3 siblings.
PP200, 128M, 16Gig

Problem is, I'm getting this on a good 10 to 20% of pages/images fetched,
or something like 'GET to http://some.where/ - Method Not Implemented'.
Pardon? 'GET' not implemented?

This has been happening on the same machine through versions 1.1.14,
1.1.15 and 1.1.16-NOVM, so its obviously a machine problem but *what* ?

Squid has also had problems with failing to allocate memory, despite
having nothing else running and squid throttled back to 8meg or so...
hasn't happened in current version yet.

Any advice out there? ;)
