My configuration is a dualpentium Digital(compaq?) Prioris xl, 128M RAM, and
4Gig partition for the cache. It runs squid 1.2.20 on a Debian GNU/Linux
system. It is a 10.000 people intranet. Its performance is _much_ more
better than the former M$ one.
Currently this is the only www cache (with a backup machine), and we want to
create a cache hierarchy. The LDAP authentication patch is under evaluation
now (seems to work well so far), and if it can stand the stress-test, we
will authenticate with that and a Netscape LDAP server.
