        Subject: squid -k check

                Hi all,

I'm running squid 1.1.20 (port 3128), and want to know whether
        squid is running or not.

        I've tried:

        bash# ./squid -k check
        bash# ./squid -f /www/squid/etc/squid.conf -k check
        bash# ./squid -a 1000 -k check
        bash# ./squid -a 3128 -k check
        bash#

I thought that , when squid is running (port 3128) or not (port
1000)
then I'll see a message or warning.
So, how do I know that squid is running ?
And what is the option "check" for ?

        Benarson.
