x-cache: hit ??

greetings.

please forgive me if this question has been asked recently, i've only just
subscribed to this list.

we're running squid 1.1.20 on a linux box. frequently when a page is
requested, it will start half way through the page, with the phrase
"X-Cache: HIT" near the top of the page. hitting reload will normally fix
the problem.

i've tried clearing the cache, but the problem remains. it happens
frequently on news pages - there are about 8 news pages that i read
frequently and more often than not i have to reload the pages to get the
full data.

does anyone have any experience with this problem (and hopefully a
solution!) ??

thanks :)
