How to make squid fetch objects faster than client reading ?

Hi !

I'd like to make my home-squid (running 1.1.x) fetch objects from the
origin as quick as possible, even if the client can't read that fast.

Is there anyone being experienced in such cases ? I just got into the
sources tonight, wich is not THAT easy.. ;-)
