is squid what i'm looking for

Greetings... I just jumped on this list, here's my question:

A while back I remembered a thread in the ip masquerading mailing list
about someone who wanted to be able to forward http requests to a machine
inside the masqueraded LAN. Squid was mentioned as a possible solution to
this (accelerated proxy or something?).

I've searched around, but no luck. I'll give you my situation and what I
want to do, and you can let me know if Squid is for me :-)

We're planning on putting a Linux box as an ip masquerading machine for a
LAN, and on the box will be a web server (apache currently). Unfortunately
the company uses intrabuilder for a lot of their web site data, and what we
want to do is for some documents to forward it inside the LAN to the
machine running intrabuilder while using apache for everything else it can.
This is where I heard squid can help me.

Thanks for any advice you have, hopefully squid is the tool for this and
I'm not wasting your time. If I am wasting your time, let me know and I'll
get off the list. :-)

later...nate
