transparent proxy port # change?

I plan to use my squid box to transparent proxy 300-400 users. All port 80
requests are being redirected from a cisco 3640. Since nobody is accessing
the squid box on the 3128 port, I am considering just changing the http_port
it listens on in the squid.conf file to 80. What are the pros and cons of
this?
I'm just trying to avoid doing all the weird stuff with ipfwadm.

Also, is it reasonable to put 400+ users on a 200MMX squid box? 128MB RAM?
