New User Problem

Hi,

I am configuring Squid for the first time and get the following errors:

cannot write logfile /usr/local/squid/logs/cache.log..... Permission denied
dnsOpenServer: WARNING: Failed to start 'dnsserver' #1.

when I checked there was no file in the dir, I created manually and chnod
777 for testing, still same errors

Any advice welcomed....
