Hm, this is similar to what I saw when my Squid died with a
segmentation fault earlier today (or is it yesterday now?) detailed in
the message that I sent to the list. It got about halfway through
writing out the log after crashing, and then quit, leaving me with a
sizable log.new.

Once Squid is up and running again, we should just be able to delete
this log.new file, right? It appears that mine was deleted
automatically during the last log cleaning.
