OK, following is the trace from GDB. Again, this is 1.2b23 pl4 w/ the
proxy_auth patch. Duane, you published a patch a few weeks ago with the changes
you wanted to make to the original proxy_auth patch (caption changes in
cachemgr, etc) -- I've applied those in my source, also.

(gdb) where
#0 0xc013a9a8 in kill ()
#1 0xc00a4f6c in raise ()
#2 0xc0085848 in _abort ()
#3 0x81790 in __eprintf (string=0x1088 "",
    expression=0x417 <Address 0x417 out of bounds>, line=0, filename=0x0)
#4 0x2edf8 in cbdataValid (p=0x40002fa0) at cbdata.c:206
#5 0x24708 in aclCheck (checklist=0x41523fd0) at acl.c:1462
#6 0x24bd4 in aclProxyAuthDone (data=0x7b037600, result=0x40093938 "OK")
    at acl.c:1605
#7 0x267f4 in authenticateHandleRead (fd=12, data=0xc004caad)

#9 0x555ec in main (argc=2, argv=0x7b03a214) at main.c:579

Good luck! If I can help further by enabling some additional tracing, please
let me know.

This is a bad thing, it means we have a little bug somewhere. Can you
generate a stack trace from the core file and mail it to us? has instructions
if you need them.
