If you are running 1.1 and cachemgr.cgi, be sure to password protect items
that return potentially huge lists of objects. The semi-bug that was causing
Squid to run out of resources when serving huge cachemgr queries was fixed in
recent versions of 1.2, AFAIK.

P.S. After certain level of security is achieved, your best bet is to
minimize the consequences of a crash rather than trying to get 100%
guarantees, I think.
