Read the manual LDAP server manual, or play around with the LDAP
tree using your favorite LDAP browser.

You need to known:

1. The port of the LDAP server (from LDAP server setup)
2. The LDAP tree location where the search should start (from LDAP
server setup).
3. Which attribute that keeps the userid (from LDAP server
model/config).
4. If your LDAP server supports authentication by binding, or if
it simply distributes the crypt():ed password to anyone who is
authorized to read it ala NIS (from LDAP server model/config).
This is the main difference between the two LDAP modules available.
