(Fwd) Squid not caching objects

Hi

I am working on a Squid accelerator, v2.0b2.

The reverse proxy function seems to be working fine but for some
reason most objects are not cached. They are stored on disk but
subsequent accesses always MISS and cause the object to be
retrieved from the source again.

It appeared that this behaviour was related to .shtml pages
(Server Side Includes). Examining the exchange between the
source and the proxy didn't reveal Apache inserting any Pragma:
nocache or Expires: headers

The configuration is straight out of the box with only the accelerator
options turned on.

Why don't the objects result in HITS.
