Bugs in Squid2.1.PRE[123] ??? Does anyone successfully run squid2.1preX in an AlphaLinux ??

I'm reposting partially my previous message to this maillist because
Squid2.1pre3 still presents the same problems in my system.

1. FD leak, squid seems that isn't closing some FD's, and opens lots of
"stale" persistent connections to the same host ...

2. Sometimes the cachemgr reports: tells to send a mail to the squid author
giving some internal error (while i'm refresing the page to see if the fd's
are released (Filedescriptor Allocation))

3. Some posts (usually query's to search engines) hang till the browser
timeouts.

4. Lots of times the proxy reports "Time expired while transferring object",
and i have a very resonable time in that config parameter.

Squid2.0patch2 doesn't present the problems 1 & 2 but instead some asserts
are triggered from time to time ...
(squid): client_side.c:442: clientHandleIMSReply: Assertion
`entry->store_status
 != STORE_ABORTED' failed.
(squid): comm.c:623: commSetSelect: Assertion `F->open == FD_OPEN' failed.

BTW I'm running Squid in a DEC PWS433au (21164@433MHz) with 320Mb of RAM &
4Gb UWSCSI, OS is Linux/Alpha 2.0.35 (with DEC patches & +256FD's patch),
CC=egcs-2.90.27 980315 (egcs-1.0.2 release)

In hope for a better squid !

TIA.
