FATAL: cannot make swap directory

   Hi,

please excuse this newbie question, but I found no answer in the FAQ
nor the list archive.

Every time I start squid as root by "squid -z" I get the following
message:

...
FATAL: Failed to make swap directory: /opt/squid/cache/00 (13)
Permission denied.
Squid cache (Version 1.NOVM.21): terminated abnormally.
...

This happens manually as well as at boot time.

When I create the swap directory manually the same message appears
changed only by the directory, i.e. /opt/squid/cache/00/00, /01, /02 and

so on ...

I run SuSE Linux 5.3 on a standard desktop.

Thanks in advance,

Sebastian
