As I suspected: The request has a request body (Content-Length: 341).
This won't currently work for other than PUT/POST methods, and the
symptoms will be that the request hangs while sending the request to the
server.

I have a old "suspended" patch which fixes this. The reason to why it is
suspended is mainly political (why make a huge patch fixing something
which almost works), but the patch should also be completely redesigned
as it is a bit crudely done..
