I experienced the same assertion error today three times. Unfortunately
squid did not dump core because it had been started as root
(http_port=80) and uses nobody as cache_effective_user; in such a case
most OSes do not dump core.

I have made a small modification to Squid 2.2 (put enter_suid() before
any abort() calls, I've already sent mail to squid-bugs) and am now
waiting for a coredump so the problem can be analyzed.
