Squid and Apache

I currently have Squid set-up as a proxy which serves several web sites
internal to my organisation. The problem we have is that we have access
lists on the Web servers which used to be fine when we used Squid as a
cache. Since we moved them to the proxy when a request comes into one of the
servers it is hitting the server with the IP address of the proxy. My
question is how do we get the original calling IP address through to the web
server I have already asked the question about using the squid directive
X-Forwarded-For perhaps this message explains better what I am trying to
achieve.

I have looked through the cache digest and found mention of a patch for
X-Forwarded-For but could not find any other threads leading to the patch.

                                Thanks In advance
