newbie questions

Hi All,

I have been running squid 1.1.2x for some time, having to hardly ever
touch it. Now though, I have installed a larger hard disk. I did this
once before, going from 2 to 4gig, and now I've gone from 4 to 8 gigs.

When going from 2 to 4 gig all I had to change was the cache_swap value.

Now, going from 4 to 8 I changed cache swap to 7956 (see below), and my
maximum cache size actually shrank by 400 megs (I had a
maximum_object_size of 32768). I changed the max size to 4megs but this
did not make any difference (That was about 2 weeks ago).

I'm running squid-1.1.22, on slackware linux-2.0.36.

How can I make squid use all my disk without upgrading to v2?

Current settings...
cache_mem 16
cache_swap 7956
cache_swap_low 97
cache_swap_high 99
cache_mem_low 95
cache_mem_high 97
maximum_object_size 4194304
ipcache_size 1024
ipcache_low 90
ipcache_high 95
