        They are called web accelerators. Many content providers
        object to their use. www.imdb.com, in particular,
        aggressively defends itself against them, up to and including
        blocking a user from their site if first and second line
        defences don't work (i.e. the tool doesn't defer on being
        instructed to keep away by robots.txt, and the tool doesn't
        properly identify itself using User Agent, so that it can
        be selectively blocked). See their terms of use.

        I think squid uses the term web accelerator rather differently
        from its use in popular Windows software.
