Proxy Logs Time Conversion - inverse of scalar localtime() in PERL?

        Sorry. This is more a perl question than Squid question.

        Usually I process the logs from t1 to t2, where
        t1 and t2 are the number of seconds since the epoch.

        Given an ASCII date string, how do I get the number of
        seconds since the epoch, in PERL.

        e.g. Tue Jun 22 10:00:00 1999 ----> 930025800

        How do I compute the inverse of "scalar localtime($nseconds)"?
