Uninstall it, download the source, and compile it. The quickstart
instructions included in the tar let me get squid running in about 10-15
minutes.

Subject: squid probs

ok... i have uninstalled the squid rpm (im using rh 6.1) and then
reinstalled it. i configured the squid.conf file to what i wanted,
denying all outside requests and only allowing the LAN and localhost
to use it. i then did squid -z.

now... when i started squid by typing in squid in the terminal, the
squid processes keep on multiplying as before, and instead of a 'no
data' error, i now get a 'socket not connected' error in netscape

how do i fix this?
