Internet Explorer and parent caches

Hello,

Can anyone please confirm this for me? The problem is confined to IE but
it would be nice to know how to get around it.

Internet Explorer is configured to use our proxy.

Our proxy is using one parent and forcing all traffic through it using
never_direct allow all.

If the request is for a page that returns a 301 or 302 request, the
browser will wait for several minutes before returning normally. This
does not occur using netscape for the same request.

An example is www.hotmail.com but is not restricted to this site alone.

I'm using IE 5.01, Netscape 4.7 and have tested against both Squid v2.2.S5
and v2.3.D3.

Regards,
Graham
